Sept 1, 2009 marks the begining of the new 2009 Fiscal Year for Nanka/USJF. Some new types of memberships have been added for the new fiscal year. Here are the descriptions of our existing and new memberships types: Joan Shiosaki
Registration Procedure for Sept 1 2009 to Aug 31, 2010
Club and Delegate renewal runs for the fiscal year as note above.
- Clubs must be registered by October 1 for their members to be eligible for Nanka Funding.
- Head Instructor must be registered with Nanka/USJF and membership must be current.
- Club delegates must also be registered with Nanka/USJF and their membership must be current to be eligible to vote at the Nanka Board of Directors meetings.
- Certificate of Insurance is also provided. See attached for more information.

Nanka Judo Yudanshakai welcomes any club within our region wishing to join our organization. We provide a wide range of judo programs and services to our membership.
- Sometimes called primary (if you do not join USA Judo). Considered secondary if you join USA Judo primary. Eligibile for memberships are "ACTIVE" participants of judo (Athletes, Instructors and Assistant Instructors, Coaches, Referrees and Anyone who gets out on the mat.
- Benifits are Accidential medical insurance coverage ($2500 deductible & $25000 max benefit).
- Memberhsip makes individuals eligible for all USJF programs, subject to specifics for each program (e.g. USJF awards, scholarships, promotions, participation in sanctioned events), time and grade credit towards promotion, USJF magazine).
- Annual members for Nanka/USJF memberships is $50. You can now use a credit card on the new Nanka USJF Membership Form 070116. Rates are reduced if you are a USJF and/or Nanka Life Member.
- This new membership is for judo boosters. People who want to support their judo club, yudanshakai (Nanka), USJF and judo. This memberships if for those individuals who DO NOT get on the mat, practice, teach or instruct, coach or referee.
- Benefits are receive USJF magazine and counts towards your clubs and Nanka's membership (dojo and yudnanshakai). DOES NOT include insurance, time and grade requirements for promotion and NOT eligible for USJF awards and scholarships.
- Annual Booster (Nanka/USJF) membership fee is $15 with $5 going back to the club.
SECONDARY NANKA/ USJF MEMBERSHIP (USA Judo - PRIMARY)
- Secondary membership to USJF if you are a PRIMARY member of USJA or USA Judo and wish to also support USJF.
- NANKA / USJF member who are in a situation where they are required to obtain USA Judo regular/primiary membership.
- USJF regular/primary members CAN NOT purchase USJA secondary or USA Judo secondary membership.
- Benefits are identical to that of regular Nanka/USJF membership with the exception NO insurance coverage (Insurance coverage provided by primary).
- Secondary membership will coincide and expire with the date of the regular (primary) membership.
- Annual Secondary USJF membership fee is $25.
- You can become the next Nanka Life Member and join the current list of distinguished members. Nanka Judo Yudanshakai Life Members:

- What is the cost? The cost of Nanka Life Membership is only $200.00.
- What do you receive? You receive the prestige of membership and recognition in belonging to a great organization, Nanka Judo Yudanshakai, Southern California Black Belt Association. With your contribution, you also receive the knowledge that you have supported the up and coming judokas of the younger generation, the future Olympians with your grassroots support.
- You will also receive an engraved “Nanka Life Membership” plaque, a Nanka “Life Membership” pin and to be recognized at the next Nanka Judo/Parents Federation Installation and Awards Banquet for your support and contribution.
- And on top of that, you will also receive a reduction in the annual Nanka/USJF membership fees each year.
- Same as individual regular membership BUT with a discount on your annaul membership registration.
- Becoming a Life member of USJF allows you a reduced annual membership fee ($42.50) instead of the $50.
- Additional benefits are: FREE Admission into USJF Jr National Championships (must display card at door) AND waiving of fees for all future USJF promotions.
- LM and PCLM discounts on USJF merchandise.
- Individuals that transfers from one Nanka club to another needs to get the Transfer Form signed by the releasing club and then by the accepting club. Once this is completed, the form is to be sent to the Nanka Office for processing.
- Past dues membership fees $30 per year (revised 2004).
Procedure To Get a Nanka/USJF Sanctioned Event
2. Attached a copy of the sanctioned event forms
3.Provide the necessary fees. If the sanctioned request is made more than 30 days before the date of the event, sanction request fees is $10. If between 29 days and 7 days, sanction request fees is $20. If under 7 days, sanction request fee is $30. Make check payable to Nanka.
After the sanctioned event, you are required to provided a Report. Fill out the Nanka/USJF Sanction Report (Form now available in word process Microsoft Word Doc format). Download and fill-out the form and fax completed report to the Nanka Office or you can directly fax to the USJF Office. Please note, Sanction Reports are due within 5 days after the completion of the event.
